Public House

On Tuesday 21 June, the entire Smíchov factory will be open again to all those interested in art. New exhibitions, artist talks, guided tours, open studios, a theatre project by a Ukrainian actress, concerts... The Public House will kick off the MeetFactory summer season.

Memories of performances
based on the story "Guardian of the Heart" by Francois Sagan

Dorothy was one of Hollywood's most successful screenwriters. She was famous, rich and reckless. Men loved her. She walked through life laughing until a road accident turned her life upside down.
In art, Dorothy followed the law of "everything is for sale". In her mind, real thinking was intertwined with fantasy. Trying not to go crazy, she writes the screenplay for "Enchanted by the Void." No film studio will dare to take it on. Dorothy locks herself in her house, rolls up the windows and starts making her "own movie." Its point is to be "LIBERATION."
The main and only role will be played by Sofia Brahina, a graduate of the National University of Culture and Arts and an actress of the Oleksandr Balaban Studio. He directed this production remotely from Kiev via Zoom. The performance will take place in the newly renovated Studio 22 on the first floor.

MUSIC

Obelisk Of Light
Power ambient project by sound experimenter Jan Kaspar, combining lingering musical structures in a melancholic tone along with complex sound design. In his more abstract compositions he uses, among other things, digitally processed electric guitar sound.

Mount Roraima
Mount Roraima is an instrumental project of four friends from the south of Bohemia who met in Prague after many years. Inspiration from their travels around the world has been translated into their work on the border between psychedelia and post-rock. Their symbol is a monumental rock massif, a jewel of South America, shrouded in mystery, which seeps into their music. A strong rhythmic foundation and long, drawn-out melodies beckon a pleasant wave of melancholy. At times you seem to find yourself in an old western that has long been forgotten, at other times Mount Roraima thunders with screaming guitars so insistent that there is no escape. Welcome to the world of the unknowable.
