Artist in Residence

Artist in Residence ProgramThe Meet Factory´s Atelier Programme opened in October 2007. The central purpose of the Atelier programme is to support the Czech contemporary art scene and its aspiring artists, with the central aim of building strong international relationships. The Meet Factory holds 15 studios of various sizes and shape. Thanks to this generous gallery space, we provide an interesting and unique blank canvas to create and present your art to the public through our Atelier Programme. The Project is also open to co-operating with selected Prague galleries.

Application Process

Applications are accepted throughout the year. The length of stay in the Atelier Programme ranges from 2 to 12 months. The submitted project will be evaluated by The Meet Factory’s committee of professionals (Zuzana “Zazi” Blochová, David Černý a Tomáš Pospiszyl).
• To apply for the Atelier programme, no application form is required, instead we
Ask for:
o A letter outlining your intentions and aspirations
o Brief resume of professional work
o Visual documentation that provides an insight into recent work
o Your requested term of residence (and if not granted, your second requested term of stay)

• During the year The Meet Factory puts out a public call for the residency project proposals. These calls can be found on www.meetfactory.cz.
• The successful candidate´s project will be viewed and chosen by our committee of professionals (Zuzana Blochová, David Černý a Tomáš Pospiszyl). The selected applicants will be provided with free accommodation and support to get their project underway.
• In other cases the committee can choose the project they like, but the candidate will be required pay for the use of his/her studio.
Facilities

Currently we offer 9 ateliers of different sizes. Each atelier is accommodated with a single bed, table and chair. Kitchen, bathroom and toilets are for shared use.
