The situation at art colleges is grave and gets worse by the year. People line up to become artists, whether they have talent or not. Everyone wants to “create” but nobody wants to “work”. The Academy of Arts, however, is not inflatable. Nobody has signed up for sculpting and only one of the seventy would-be painters can be admitted for study. Michal Pěchouček portrays a desperate father preparing his son for talent examinations in a studio with no heating…

Rain dance je absurdní temná groteska spojující klišé zábavního průmyslu se skepsí pomalu rostoucí v celé západní kultuře, kde si zbloudilí démoni starého světa v nové době nevědí rady stejně jako její obyvatelé.

1. Jakákoliv aktivita mající za cíl vyřešení hardwarového problému při očekávání nulového efektu.
2. Jakýkoliv sled mysteriozních akcí provedený směrem k počítači, za účelem dosažení jistého cíle. Obvykle omezeno na rituály obsahující zaklínání a podobné psychické aktivity. Voodoo programování, černá umění, programování kultu cargo, mávání mrtvým kuřetem, čtení runových znaků na deskách tištěných spojů.

Samozvaní léčitelé a nápravci se uchylují k čím dál bizarnějším úkonům. Proti rozmáhající se vyprázdněnosti staví povrchní rituály opsané ze sešitů National geographic a odkoukané z béčkových filmů. Soukolí se sune vpřed a nikde už ani stopy po tajemství. Vždycky ještě ale zbývá čas na příjemnou chvíli s písničkou. Voodoo, kabbala, jukebox, horror, shame, despair.
Existenciální horror o touze po vysvobození, které nikdy nepřijde.
V představení ani při jeho přípravě nebyl použit počítač ani žádné jiné přístroje založené na softwaru a obsahující integrované obvody.

England is a play custom written for The Fruitmarket Gallery in Edinburgh. The British playwright and performer Tim Crouch wrote it in 2007, staged it himself and starred in it together with the actress Hannah Ringham at an Edinburgh festival. The play was a major success and has been played in many European countries ( among others at the Neue Stücke aus Europa festival in Wiesbaden ) ever since.
The text is important and befitting to The Meetfactory in both its form and its theme. Formally, the play works as a conducted tour with actors as conducters who are led by the audience. The play therefore requires an open space, the opposite of opera glasses, ideally a gallery. The Meetfactory, having two theatre stages and a gallery, can thus offer ideal circumstances for staging this play.
England has two parts, the first one will be staged at The Meetfactory’s gallery without any scenography or lights, during whatever exhibition will be held there at the moment. The second one will be staged in The Meetfactory’s theatre.
„To me, the most important theme of the text is the relation between art and body. The „I” in the first part of the text ( the gender of the speaker is unclear, Tim Crouch counts with a man and a woman acting together) is deadly ill and tells the audience about the art that surrounds them. This takes place in a gallery, in a spacet hat has its own, precisely defined, un-theatrical rules and which encircles the audience with the art emphasising the contrast between the supposed eternity of art and the platitude of a sick body. „Art can save lives!” says the „I” speaker, but he himself demonstrates that it is not true. The body passes away, the art stays. In the second part, we can see that the „I” speaker survived, but not because of art, but because he had his heart transplanted. A body is saved in more specific and pathetic ways than art. The confrontation with the story of the new heart is almost unbearable.
Besides the question of the value of art and its importace to our lives, England also deals with the theme of transplantation and relocation. It is a multilayered story of one thing inside of another, a story of a heart in someone else’s body, of a strange culture in another country’s culture, of a gallery in a theatre, of a theatre character in an actor, of an an inscenation in its audience.”

SG visited Prague Meet Factory with stage piece Hever in may 2009.

A stage adaptation of the book The Little Girl Who Was Too Fond of Matches by Gaétan Soucy. One early morning, right before the dawn, two brothers find out that their father had without a prior warning just kicked the bucket.. It’s starting to rain outside, the manor is plunging into the mud and there are no plywood panels for coffin in the shed, only the Just punishment. Someone is going to have to go to the village. And regarding the question of universe, someone is going to have to figure things out for themselves. A story about dark secrets, discovering the world beyond the father’s manor and realization that everything is different from what we thought until now.

Jana von Gunten přichází do školy Benjamenta s předsevzetím začít úplně odzdola, pracovat, postavit se na vlastní nohy, nebýt svým rodičům na obtíž. Už v první chvíli ale zjišťuje, že školu společně s jejími chovankami a učitelkou ovládá jakýsi zbytnělý systém dogmat a pravidel vyhnaných k absurdnosti.

Walserův hrdina je opakem kánonu revoltujícího hrdiny, Jana von Gunten odchází do školy Benjamenta protože chce být funkční součástí společnosti. Řád, který jí škola nabízí, je uzavřeným systémem příkazů, který udržují jen samy sebe. Pro Janu je to první setkání s nesmyslností systémů, ve kterých se převrátil jejich původní smysl. Walser ukazuje tragičnost a bezvýchodnost člověka bez osobních ambicí, člověka, který chce být jen dobrým „pomocníkem”.

Inscenace je inspirovaná knihou Roberta Walsera. V roce 1909, kdy předloha vznikla, nechal Walser hlavní postavu na konci románu odjet do pouště, sám později přestal psát a dobrovolně posledních dvacet let svého života žil v ústavu pro choromyslné, chodil na procházky a povídal si s přáteli, kteří za ním jezdili.

Nový projekt divadla MeetFactory „Ateliér performance”, v rámci kterého se budou v jednom z ateliérů v tříměsíčních intervalech střídat čeští i zahraniční divadelní performeři.

Německý režisér Kai Ohrem zinscenoval společně s českým týmem text autorky Dey Loher Země beze slov.

Ve hře Země beze slov zkoumá autorka možnosti, jak dát podobu něčemu beztvarému, co na člověka útočí a přemáhá ho. Klade si otázky, jak ztvárnit bolest, jak ji spoutat na plátně, jak popsat v monologu zděšení oběti i pozorovatele a zachovat si přitom schopnost reflexe vlastní umělecké produkce.Hra reaguje na možnosti umění v dnešním světě. Dea Loher vytvořila působivé monodrama kladoucí nepohodlnou otázku, co může umění
v našem světě ztvárnit, způsobit, změnit.

Povídá mi majitel klubu: Vy jste teda přijela do K., abyste namalovala něco o tomhle městě? Máte už teda nějakou představu, co by to mohlo být? Můžu si jeden exemplář pověsit v klubu? Na chvilku jsem zadržela dech a říkám mu: Nojo, myslím, že asi nahodím králíky, co v té vaší krásné oáze strašidel hopkají v trávě, nebo namaluju ten skvělej bazén odpoledne s těma hošanama, jak ucucávají džin tonic, a vypadat to bude jako od toho Hockneyho, jenomže těm hošanům bude chybět ruka nebo noha nebo hlava, protože šlápli na minu, než se mohli naučit plavat. Je to ono, co byste si tak představoval? On krátce přemýšlel a pak fakt řekl: Ale v našem klubu nejsou žádné oběti nášlapných min. A já jsem se nedala do hlasitýho smíchu.

Berlínský režisér Kai Ohrem má kromě tvorby na německých scénách (Hamburg - Thalia, Berlin - Eigenreich…) zkušenosti s režiemi v zahraničí (Rakousko, Polsko, Bělorusko), v České republice se jedná o jeho první režii.

In LAND OHNE WORTE begibt sich eine Malerin auf die Suche nach einer Sprache des Schmerzes. Wie dem Gestaltlosen, das einen zu überwältigen droht, Gestalt geben? Angesichts der allgegenwärtigen Gräuel von Krieg und Elend erkundet die Malerin Möglichkeiten, den Schmerz darzustellen, auf die Leinwand zu bannen. Dea Loher gelingt es in dem Monolog, den Schrecken der Opfer wie den des Betrachtens zu beschreiben und dabei die eigene Kunstproduktion zu reflektieren.
LAND OHNE WORTE ist eine Reflexion über die Möglichkeit von Kunst in unserer heutigen Welt: In K., einer Stadt am Rande der Menschlichkeit, hat eine Malerin Krieg, Gewalt und Armut erlebt, die sich nicht mehr darstellen lassen. Seither weiß sie nicht mehr, was ihr Sujet in der Kunst noch sein könnte. Dea Loher hat ein eindrucksvolles Monodrama geschaffen, das die unbequeme Frage stellt, was Kunst in unserer Welt darstellen, bewirken, verändern kann.

Jo-Anna Hamann režírovala především na menších scénách v Berlíně (Gorky Theater, Deutches Theater) a dalších německých městech, mimo Německo např. připravila představení v ruském Permu v divadle Sergeje Fedotova. Genesis č. 2 je koláží z textů pacientky psychiatrické kliniky s diagnózou akutní schizofrenie Antonie Velikánové, textových zásahů Ivana Vyrypajeva a jejich korespondence. Hra o smyslu lidské existence
v podání Lotovy ženy, Boha a proroka Jana.

„Posílám vám svoji hru. Nechci znát váš názor, nejsem dramatička. V minulosti jsem byla učitelka matematiky (teď je pro mě všechno
v minulosti), ale rozhodla jsem se napsat něco právě pro divadlo. Možná proto, že jak řekl Shakespeare: „Celý svět je jen divadlo a lidé v něm jsou jen herci.“ Pochopila jsem, co to znamená, a doufám, že se mi to podaří předat i divákům. Zkrátka, napsala jsem hru a posílám ji vám. Prosím vás, uveďte ji ve svém divadle, jestli to půjde.“

Jo- Anna Hamann is known for her direction mostly on small stages in Berlin (Gorky Teater, Deutches Theter) and in cities outside of Germany. She has put together a performance in Russian Perm, in the theatre of Sergej Fedotov. Being nr 2, is a collage from the writing of a psychiatry clinic, who was diagnosed with an acute form of Schizophrenia. A. Velkoanova’s text has been corrected by Ivan Vyrypajev and put together based on their correspondence
which plays on the meaning of human existence performed by the wife of Lot, God and John the prophet. This text is going to be released in the Czech Republic for the first time.

“I am sending my play to you. I do not care for your opinion, I am not a dram writer. In the past I was a math teacher (now all that is in the past) and I decided to write something for theatre. Maybe because Shakespeare said: “the entire world is a theatre and people in it actors.” I understood what he meant and I hope I was able to pass that understanding onto the viewers as well. Basically, I wrote a play and I am sending it to you. Please put it on in your theatre if you can. (Antonie Velikanova)
