Andreas Greiner (DE) (b. 1979, Aachen) has developed his work around questions of the individuality of a being, which has led him to the alteration of the living: bioengineering, the manipulation of our natural environment. Using scientific methods in his artistic approach, he illuminates different dimensions of the human-nature-relationship. He deals with the contemporary interactions of nature, technology, culture and art - discussing ethical and socio-political questions of human interventions into even the smallest levels of evolution. Andreas Greiner studied Medicine and Fine Art at Universities in Germany, Italy and Budapest, he graduated from the Institut für Raumexperimente of Prof. Olafur Eliasson. He is a member of the artistic collective Das Numen and artistic duo A/A together with Armin Keplinger.
On 22nd January Andreas Greiner will introduce his current exhibition called Monument for the 308 at Kostka Gallery. The exhibition shows a monumental sculpture reminiscent of a dinosaur skeleton from a natural museum pays tribute to an animal species of our time: the Ross 308 broiler chicken.
Artist talk will take place at MeetFactory Theater Hall; free entry; in English
