SHAPE+
Sound, Heterogenous Art and Performance in Europe

SHAPE+ is a platform for innovative music and audiovisual art co-financed by the Creative Europe programme. It brings together 18 organisations from countries across Europe to create a platform which fosters exceptional emerging talent and aims to support, promote and exchange innovative and aspiring musicians and interdisciplinary artists with an interest in sound. SHAPE+ builds upon the previous SHAPE platform, which from 2015 to 2022 supported 336 emerging European artists and presented their work at festivals, events and venues in numerous countries across Europe and beyond. This new stage of the SHAPE platform will be marked by an emphasis on residencies and, where possible, greener forms of travel.

Each year, the curatorial teams of all SHAPE+ festivals and initiatives come together and choose a roster of artists. The artist roster has been created disregarding divisions of genre, age or popularity. Rather, creative novelty and successful experimentation have served as core values, with additional emphasis on the inclusion of upcoming and underexposed artists as well as representing local scenes of involved festivals and art centers. Once a year, SHAPE+ platform announces an open call and the submissions are also taken into consideration when creating the artist list.
