DENA (BG)

Bulgaria-born, Berlin-based DENA has had a breakthrough with ironic pop-song “Cash, Diamond Rings, Swimming Pools”, it would be unwise to put her in the one-hit-wonders bad, though. Four years after her full-length debut Flash, DENA returns with her sophomore record “If it’s Written”. With a little help of her friends (Sean Nicolas Savage or long-time collaborator Erlend Øye), she moves self-confidently from music jokes to more serious themes, from simple hip-hop beats to R'n'B and funk feel, without losing her edge or the sharp tongue. DENA is coming back on Thursday, September 27.
