This project is the creation of film director Sylvain Chomet, author of the awarded films The Triplets of Belleville and The Old Lady and the Pigeons. Sylvain Chomet will attend the film screening and afterwards lead a discussion (in English with Czech translation).

The Illusionist:
Tatischeff is an aging magician. All that he has left from his past fame is a white rabbit and a few tricks that have been surpassed by modern technology. However, there's still one little girl who believes that he is the greatest magician in the world. Tatischeff is willing to do anything for her dark eyes to avoid seeing them disappointed. This duo, along with a rabbit in a hat, embark on a journey to magical success in a society that has stopped believing in magic. Animator and director Sylvain Chomet found inspiration in a script by comedian Jacques Tati and created a visually enchanting, fragile and touching story of fatherly love and belief in happy endings.
