After fifteen years, the band Here emerges from the mists of obscurity. On January 23, 2026, Here will release a reissue of their debut album Swirl via Stoned to Death. The band who once described their style aptly with the words flower noise, stood at the very beginning of the Czech independent movement inspired by the sound of shoegaze.

The band from Vyškov, now returning for a few rare live shows, will perform songs from their albums Swirl (1993) and Entre Deux Soleils (1996). The new reissue of Swirl will be accompanied by an essay from Miloš Hroch, author of the book Šeptej nahlas, a deep dive into the Czech shoegaze revolution set against the social transformations of the post-revolutionary 90s – a period which Here were a key part of.

The Stoned to Death showcase on Friday January 23 at MeetFactory will also feature sets from Never SolMarie Vermont and Obelisk of Light, alongside Here.

Prague-based musician Sára Vondrášková, performing under the alias Never Sol, builds her sonic world around an extensive collection of analog synthesizers. With them and her vocal, Never Sol crafts an atmospheric palette that moves between a cosmic goth seance and existential horror. Her most recent release, Tell The Sea I’m Coming Back, was released last year on Stoned to Death. A new album is in the works and set to see the light of day in summer 2026.

Marie Vermont is a Vienna-based musician and visual artist. Her new recording Einheitliches Geschirr is a sonic collage of a wide spectrum sonic material: analog and electronic instruments, field recordings, tape manipulations, telephone signals, toys, objects, and parrots, creating a singular auditory labyrinth. Marie Vermont’s music draws from a noise-driven, experimental approach, yet at the same time feels highly disciplined. She currently sits at the top of the list of “under-the-radar” artists whose performances should not be missed!

Obelisk of Light is a project of Jan Kašpar who is the author of a unique sound centered on a heavily processed guitar. Broken down into shattering fragments and textures that are  at their core  pure audiophilia, manifesting in Kašpar’s work through the extreme depth, meticulousness, and fragility of his production. In 2024, Kašpar composed the soundtrack for the documentary Nadějní návštěvníci a truchlící průvodci. The soundtrack will be released by Stoned to Death in a limited lathe-cut vinyl edition.
