„All is allowed in art production. Yet there is always an uncomfortable "but" in each project. For the MeetFactory exhibition Wall I proposed a motif with the nearby Futura Center for Contemporary Art logo at whose visual identity I participated. I made my free decision to produce an unpaid, large-scale commercial for another, though nonprofit, competitive entity, from whose budget the work was realized. My thoughts were on the overproduction of visual motives in networks of schedules, cultural programs and on possible 'buts' of this commission. I wished to step out of the comfortable zone, once I was allowed to design almost anything for the Wall.“ 

Jan Brož (1988) graduated from Academy of Fine Arts in Prague. During studies he paid a study visit to The Cooper Union in New York and the Hochschule für Gestaltung in Karlsruhe. He also took part a residential stay at Triangle Arts (NY) and the Prague studio Tonlab. In 2015 he won the prize of the Ministry of Culture Czech Republic "Most Beautiful Czech book by authors to 30 years," for his book Second Nature, in 2016 he scored in the final of the Czech Grand Design with his project Identity Center for Contemporary Art Futura. In the same year he participated on 27th Biennal of Graphic Design Brno. Jan Brož co-founded (with Michael Landa) a design studio titled Parallel Practice.
