Julius Reichel: Dědictví krve

Julius Reichel floods Kostka Gallery with several hundred kilograms of discarded textile, out of which a single monumental object rises, matter that holds the wear and the memory of many lives. The walls are lined with the artist's calligraphic texts and paintings, which, as ever, mirror the chaos of a society oversaturated with information and disinformation and sliding into apathy. The title is no accident: the very name Julius Reichel is itself inherited, taken on from his great-grandfather, whose fate shows through the fabric like a trace of lineage. Here Reichel recycles matter, sign, and blood alike, an inheritance that cannot be cast off, only rewritten again and again in the visual and data smog of the present.
