The solo exhibition of Lenka Glisníková, the current winner of the Jindřich Chalupecký Award, presents works on the border between 3D objects and digital images. A large-scale dystopian installation at the Kostka Gallery evokes hybrid entities of machines transformed into living organisms. Lenka Glisníková's work, although it is already exclusively object-based, always has a direct link to the two-dimensional form of photography on which it is primarily based. Her works are reminiscent of natural or extraterrestrial objects, parts of which protrude into space in the form of protrusions, depressions, and bulges. Some are close in appearance to twisted branches, but their surface is made of a hybrid shiny material on the borderline between the biological and the machine. They give the impression of a hybrid life form, but one that no longer comes from the world as we know it. Michele Gabriele also depicts the degradation of our existence into these post-human beings in his work; like Lenka Glisníková, he works with a materialized form of hyperrealistic 3D or digital images, which he then transforms into objects resembling hybrid organisms. The exhibition is intended as a thematic equivalent to Michele Gabriele's solo exhibition at the GMF.
Lenka Glisníková (*1990) studied in Michal Kalhouse's photography studio at the Faculty of Arts in Ostrava and then completed her master's studies at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague in the studio of Aleksandra Vajd and Martin Kohout. She was nominated for the STARTPOINT PRIZE 2019 for graduates of European art schools, where she received an honorable mention from the jury. Last year, she was selected across European talents for the PLAT(T)FORM showcase in Winterthur, Switzerland. In 2023, she was the winner of the Jindřich Chalupecký Prize.
