Summer Cinema: Loveable

The Norwegian debut Loveable (2024) by Lilja Ingolfsdottir is a raw and deeply personal look at a marriage on the brink of collapse.
This harsh yet intimate exploration of a relationship’s hidden corners moves between the longing for closeness and the painful necessity of letting someone in—and letting them go. For her extraordinary performance, Helga Guren won the Best Actress award at last year’s Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, where the film received a total of five awards.

This Norwegian film, which powerfully reminds us of the importance of loving ourselves first, resonated deeply with gallery curator Ján Gajduška.
