MeetFactory Summer Cinema: Our Little Sister

Three grown-up sisters Sachi, Yoshino and Chika from Kamakura have not seen their father in 15 years. They attend his funeral to learn they have a younger half-sister Suzu who became an orphan by current events. Older sisters invite the 13-year-old to live with them. If this was a movie of Euro-American production, the audience would soon expect tense atmosphere so no wonder why European audience constantly anticipates the drama burst. Instead you find yourself to enjoy the film which celebrates ordinariness, love for nature and ability to find joy in little things.

Chekhov's sisters would be quite surprised.
