Lina Romanukha: Culture During War Time

Are you interested in what is happening to Ukrainian art and culture during the Russian full-scale invasion of Ukraine? Artist, curator, cultural manager and current MeetFactory resident Lina Romanukha will present her testimony and opinion in her lecture Culture During War Time. 

Is writing poetry after Auschwitz barbaric, as the German philosopher and sociologist Theodor Adorno claimed, or is the sentence of the Ukrainian poet Serhiy Zhadan "poetry cannot stop the war, but it can bear witness to it" true? Lina Romanukha will illustrate her narrative with examples of works by contemporary Ukrainian artists, created after 24 February 2022.

On the same day the event Ich/Du: Living Interview will take place and Sunday is also the last day to visit the exhibitions Ich/Du & Aleksandra Vajd, Hynek Alt, Anetta Mona Chisa, Jen Kratochvil, Adéla Svobodová (MeetFactory Gallery) and Anežka Hošková, Lucie Svoboda Mičíková, Pavel Příkaský: A Moment of Stillness (Galerie Kostka). 

Entrance is free. The lecture will be held in English without interpretation.
