Lucie Lučanská: To feed the hand that feeds you

MeetFactory is reviving the site-specific concept of Zeď Gallery after a hiatus of several years. The outdoor exhibition project is now moving to the backyard of the building of the former glass factory, providing space for large-scale artistic interventions.

The first project realized in this new location is a painting by Prague-based illustrator Lucie Lučanská. In her work To feed the hand that feeds you, the artist turns to the theme of communal dining as a source of everyday care and belonging. The mural is deliberately apolitical and does not comment on any of the ongoing global crises or catastrophes. It loosely follows the project stillherestillrestlife, which explores the evolution of the still-life genre focused on food and dining. The artwork is created using airbrush techniques combined with traditional spray graffiti methods, resulting in a hybrid and expressive piece that moves toward a subtle yet strikingly monumental painting style.
