Since their formation in 2009, Submotion Orchestra have been regarded as a unique ensemble, creating their own musical world beyond genre boundaries. Seamlessly blending deep electronic music, jazz, soul, and ambient downtempo, they captivate audiences around the globe with their enchanting sound. Their music is both delicate and heavy, spacious and dense, strongly atmospheric yet firmly grounded. Their live performances stand out for their precise musicianship and the striking contrast between fragile melodies and themes with massive beats, deep bass, and a mesmerizing vocal presence.

They recently sold out London’s Barbican Theatre as part of the London Jazz Festival, were nominated for Best Live Act at the Bass Music Awards, and at the beginning of the year released their fully instrumental EP III.

The band quickly made a splash on the wider scene, with their gigs and recordings - including classic debut album Finest Hour - creating a devoted fanbase. Five albums, numerous EPs and many sold-out UK and EU tours later, the tireless band are still going strong, with their most recent release Five Points (SMO Recordings) showcasing their most interesting music yet, one which ploughs a path through electronic, jazz, ambient and soul in the singular way that Submotion Orchestra can do. As support, the excellent Jon Kennedy will perform.
