Producer, vocalist, and sound artist Never Sol is releasing her third full-length album Rest Your Wound On Mine, to be launched on Friday, May 29 at Smíchov's MeetFactory

The new album arrives nearly ten years after Never Sol's previous record CHAMALEO and is the result of a gradual loosening of the forms and structures she has worked within so far. The record, developed over the course of five years, will be released on Stoned to Death.

Shifting towards a more abstract and less song-oriented form is a result of free improvisations on modular synthesizers. This allowed Never Sol to work more deeply with sonic details and sound-shaping. “I eventually returned to song form anyway, because it feels natural to me. This time though, it grew out of a process which gradually deconstructed the compositions into abstraction, and then reassembled them. Improvisation allowed me to respond to time, space, and the audience. I think it helped bring the material into a form that holds up.”

The album was created primarily on a Prophet 8, modular systems, and other synthesizers, combined with vocal effects. Heavily processed vocals, rich in texture and distortion, are accompanied by swelling layers of synthesizers that build in intensity throughout the tracks, culminating in the album’s monumental sound. The pilot single Accord was recorded during a residency at Grey Nivas in New York and features vocals by American musician Monika Khot (Nordra), connecting raw sonic layers with inspiration in natural processes.
