An Asian fast food restaurant, served by a non-Asian middle-aged woman. She is withdrawn. Why does she work here? We don’t know. Formica, wallpaper, grease and fat, artificial flowers, Asian calendar, gallery of meal images over the bar. A place of lives gone astray and of loneliness. People who have decided to die yet they will have their meal still today. The room is closely packed and the guests’ elbows clash every so often when they cut their food. You’ll overhear the discussion from a neighboring table whether you will it or not. And so, the waitress listens. How to tie a hangman’s noose? How to settle one’s estate? Block one’s bank account, terminate one’s agreement with the telephone operator, and cancel one’s social networks profile. Someone leaves this world well prepared and someone just wishes to depart. How often did he have to stand over an abyss and look downwards before he jumped? Or did he stand there just once? And what it may be like in the moments shortly after a suicide was done? 


The author staging is partially based on the Jean Améry text On Suicide.
