Maximal Repetition. Minimal Deviation.Water Damage, Austin-based experimental supergroup build their music around hypnotic repetitive grooves and monolithic droning instrumentals. They break down traditional song structures in favor of transcendental noise streams that seem to have neither a beginning nor an end.

The band’s ever-shifting lineup (George Dishner, Danielle Hills, Greg Piwonka, Jeff Piwonka, Mari Maurice, Mike Kanin, Nate Cross, Thor Harris, Travis Austin et al.) brings together members from various musical projects such as Spray Paint, Black Eyes, Swans, USA/Mexico, more eaze, Thor & Friends, Marriage, and SUR, combining two to three thunderous drum sets with pairs of guitars, keyboards, and violins in glowing fields of drone. Once an idea is born, they chase it endlessly. Pitchfork described their 2024 double album In E as a “glorious mind eraser”. The damage creeps, a forest becomes a mountain, and the faithful move forward.

This fall, Water Damage are heading on a European tour with stops at London’s Cafe OTO, Manchester’s The White Hotel, and Copenhagen’s ALICE among others. They are also set to play their first-ever Czech show at MeetFactory on September 8.

The night will open with B4 — a local group formed by chance in 1998 at a festival in Turnov. The core of B4 has since consisted of keyboardist David Freudl, guitarist Tomáš Procházka, and drummer Leoš Kropáček.

Their improvised musical work is rooted in psychedelia and fragments of noise, jazz, krautrock, disco, and rock, with a focus on the distinctive sound of the former Eastern Bloc. Their signature sound, for many years based on a vintage analog Vermona organ, Korg and Siel keyboards, tape echoes, and many other effects, is now enriched with contemporary instruments and devices — both real and virtual. B4 are recipients of the Vinyla Award for Album of the Year in 2011 and 2019. Their latest record, Mazut, was released by the Polí5 label in June 2025.

The event is promoted by MeetFactory in collaboration with festival alternativa.
