Barbora Fastrová

Barbora Fastrová (b. 1988, Prague, Czech Republic) is a Prague-based visual artist. who although studied at the Studio of Photography at UMPRUM mostly work with sculpture and installations. She has always been fascinated by shapes, masses, and materials. In 2015 Barbora presented her diploma exhibition that contained objects from concrete and plaster together with audiovisual works. She presented it in Prague’s gallery Fotograf and also later the works were selected for the Startpoint prize exhibition. 

In 2014 Barbora Fastrová started a long-lasting collaboration with another graduate from UMPRUM's Studio of Photography, Johana Pošová. They started to work with videos and large-scale paper mache objects that mostly showed metamorphosis between man, animals and plants (Gris Gris, GfZK Leipzig, 2015 or Brother, Syntax Lisboa 2016).
