Flora Citroën & Kévin Blinderman

Flora Citroën & Kévin Blinderman (b. 1990 / 1994, France) is a duo that met at art school in 2013 and started their first collaboration in 2023 at the Centre for Contemporary Art – La Synagogue de Delme.

What the artists have in common is that they create artworks that give free rein to emotion, melancholy and failure as an emancipatory value that is at odds with a society that uncritically values success, the certainty of happiness and superficiality. They give space to what is embarrassing and uncomfortable, not out of gratuitous provocation, but because these frictional surfaces exist, are experienced by everyone daily, and therefore require artistic representation. The art of conversation, historical research, and fiction writing (while playing on reality) sustain their practice and build on the current tendency to construct fictional situations as integral to reality and vice versa.
