Ján Kralovič

Ján Kralovič graduated in Art and Culture History at Faculty of Philosophy and Art of Trnava University in Trnava. He worked as a researcher at Academy of Fine Arts and Design (AFAD) in Bratislava between 2012–2016. He lectures history of Slovak art of 20th century, history of new media, topics connected with book culture and illustration as well as teaches seminars focused on artwork theory and interpretation at Department of Theory and History of Art at AFAD. He publishes reviews, theoretical works, and research studies on neo-avant-
garde and contemporary arts and book culture in professional journals (Jezdec, Ostium, FlashArt, artalk.cz, Fraktál, Profil, Vlna etc.). He is also an occasional curator.

He published Teritorium ulice (The Territory of the Street), action art in the city environment in Slovakia between 1965–1989, in 2014. He also published a monography called Mistrovství za dveřmi (Mastery Behind the Door) focused on apartment exhibitions and art activities during the 1970s and 1980s in 2017. Currently, he researches relationship between book creation (illustrations, graphic design) and fine arts.
