Katarzyna Witek

Katarzyna Witek (b. 2000, Poland) is a multidisciplinary artist working with painting, textile, text and drawing. Through her works she is developing an idyllic, biocentric world where products of human activity are reduced, omitted or distinctive in their visual form. Using process-oriented techniques like dying and collage she juxtaposes the micro and macroscale of nature, showing its beauty and gradual disappearance. Awarded in competitions including 5th BTA in Poznan (2025), Postures (X and XI), Nowy Obraz / Nowe Spojrzenie (2024), scholarship holder of the Mayor of Wrocław and the Rector of the Academy of Art and Design in Wroclaw.

Residency dates: 1. 2. – 30. 6. 2026

RESIDENCY PROJECT

During the residency she will develop a new series of paintings and textile works, a trace of her ongoing exploration of the elements that build the planet on which we live based on archival books on geology and hydrofeminism discourse (Astrida Neimanis).
