Paula Gogola (b. 1998) is a Slovak-born Prague-based artist. She mostly works in the medium of painting, approaching figuration from different angles and exploring the language of morphology in relation to the body and its modification. Rooted in queer and feminist thought, her work reflects a sustained interest in the body as a porous, mutable form - one shaped by personal experience, cultural narratives, and speculative reimaginings.
Her approach is intuitive yet research-driven, grounded in both material sensitivity and theoretical curiosity. In her recent work, she has explored themes such as hormonal transformation, contamination, desire, and care - often through a soft, atmospheric visual language. Her visual language engages with figuration as a site of transformation, drawing attention to bodily fluidity, symbolic ambiguity, and the layered tensions between surface and identity.
