Viktoria Dürr

Viktoria Dürr’s (b. 1991, Vienna) artistic practice moves between painting, sculpture, and jewelry. Her work is shaped by an intense engagement with nature and with the diverse materials it provides. In her immediate surroundings she collects found objects such as shells, stones, sand or gras. These site-related materials carry traces of their origins such as climatic conditions, decay, or human intervention and become carriers of stories.

RESIDENCY PROJECT 

For her time in Prague, Dürr aims to further expand her understanding of site-specific practice and to engage with Czech culture. Through a playful yet precise process, she transforms the everyday into something precious, introducing questions of value, resource

awareness, and the human relationship with the environment into artistic discourse. Dürr is particularly interested in challenging herself once again not to focus on a single predetermined material, but rather to allow chance to guide her process and let the materials themselves determine the direction of the work.
