10th birthday of Radio Wave: Omar Souleyman (SY) + Clap! Clap! (IT) + DJs

The party is taking place in MeetFactory  in Prague on 16th January. This great event is presenting Omar Souleyman, a man behind one of the most striking musical projects known among the fans of today‘s avantgarde. Another great star of the party is the Italian producer Clap!Clap! Radio Wave’s birthday party will be a celebration of global multicultural society.

The energetic dance music of Omar Souleyman fits both clubs and world music stages. His collaborations with western musicians, such as Four Tet,Modeselktor or Gilles Peterson represent a bridge between the culture of the East and the western style. His tracks are a mixture of  traditional Syrian genre dabkeb, Iraqi folk music choubi and rhytms of cheap western synthetizers. The great mix tops Omar ‘s hypnotic voice. Omar Souleyman makes dance music with no barriers.

Italian producer Cristian Crisci who uses a psedonym Clap!Clap! builds his music on black continent‘s musical heritage. He puts samples of African singers and bands into coherent tracks full of energy. Leading role plays the rhytm. He mixes original African field recordings with an sound of synthetizers and drum machines, this way he suceeds in making it all sound pretty up-to-date. He gained the attention of today‘s electronic scene with his debut album Tayi Bebba on which he puts footwork, hip-hop, techno and house into one attractive blend. Clap!Clap! is introducing his new EP Simple in MeetFactory.
