The king is dead, long live the king! In the wake of Danish singer MØ’s cancelled tour and Prague show (see below), the British indie rock band Glass Animals will play their first Czech solo show on Tuesday, Novemeber 18 at MeetFactory.

Glass Animals emerged two years ago in Oxford and after their debut EP Leaflings, they were approached by the producer Paul Epworth (Florence and the Machine, Adele, Azaelia Banks) and his label Wolf Tone. Following few singles, a full album ZABA was recorded and released this summer.

The band cites Kanye West, Charles Darwin, Nina Simone and The Velvet Underground as influences and sounds as if the best parts of each came together on each track. Minimalistic percussion and exotic arranges give way to the stark songwriting by the frontman Dave Bayley, soaked in r’n’b or hypnotic, rainforest rhythms. The universally acclaimed debut draws comparison to the “beastly brother” Animal Collective or Europe’s Alt-J and Wild Beats.

The Oxford-based quartet has already completed a tour with St. Vincent earlier this year and played the biggest festival such as Glastonbury, Bestival or SXSW and are ready to storm the European stages. This makes their Czech debut a special event in its own and should be consider a must-go to all indie lovers.

MØ's statement regarding the cancelled show:

Dear Prague,

I'm deeply saddened to let you know that I have to cancel the scheduled show at MeetFactory on November 18.
I need to take some time off to rest and focus on the making of my next album.I hate to cancel shows, but there's no way to work around it I'm afraid. I can't wait to come back and make it up to you.

See you all in 2015. Love, MØ
