"Martin Toldy responds to the environmental crisis and its projection into our daily lives through the now iconic face associated with this alarming reality. The installation refers to the performance of Greta Thunberg, who for many has become a nightmare due to misinterpretations." (Lucia Gavulová)
Martin Toldy (*1989) graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in the VVV studio (Visual, Verbal, Public) under the guidance of Martin Piaček and Dávid Koronczi in 2019 with a diploma thesis on the topic of Fields and Roles on Our Scene.
Since 2013 he has basically been constantly working in the field of intermedia creation in academia (the longest under the leadership of Nora Ružičková), which is closest to his way of expression through the medium of art. He is primarily interested in the psychology of the relationship between the artist, the viewer, and the space in which their communications meet, as well as the possibilities of "psychologisation" of space as such (in connection with the event, time, perception), as well as aspects of the game, simulation, participatory and interaction. He is the founder and an active member of the performative group Marína Abramovič Po Sebe Neupratuje (MAPSN).
The artist was approached for collaboration on the basis of the nomination within the frame of the internal opencall organised by MeetFactory.
