Chen Chen Yu: Dream of the Eggs

The exhibition draws inspiration from a specific historical event: In 1945, hundreds of thousands of German-speaking families were expelled from the Czech border regions. They were given only a limited amount of time to pack and faced strict restrictions on what they could take with them.

How were eggs - a fragile object requiring a special kind of care - transported under such conditions? The exhibition Dream of the Eggs by Taiwanese artist Chen Chen Yu reflects on how the act of expulsion severed the chain of knowledge passed down from generation to generation. 

FOTOFUTURES 2026

Graduation projects from the studios of classical photography, imaginative photography, documentary strategies, intermedia, and new aesthetics at the Department of Photography, FAMU in Prague. The exhibition is open until the end of June on the residential floor of MeetFactory.
