Rainald Goetz: Pevnost

Theater director Miroslav Bambušek returns to the MeetFactory with the Czech premiere of the text written by the German literary provocateur Rainald Goetz.

The MeetFactory Theater aims to play with theater genres and seeks new ways to express literary author’s projects. The director Miroslav Bambusek returns to the MeetFactory with the Czech premiere of Pevnost (Fort) written by the German psychiatrist, historian and writer Rainald Goetz, who is well known for his multimedia projects rooted in Berlin's electro scene. In his exquisite, extraordinarily complex drama Pevnost (Festung, 1992) Goetz examines significant moments from German history (the Holocaust, student movements from the 1960s, and German reunification) with a critical, often hateful eye.

Interesting personalities from the Czech theater scene appear in this production: Milan Stehlík from the National Theater in Prague, Jiří Černý from the old Komedie, Jan Lepšík (known to our spectators from "Mondšajn"), Dora Bouzková, who performed in Bambušek’s projects "Silní" and "Skočná", and Petr Čtvrtníček from Divadlo Na Zábradlí.
