A unique event in a unique place – this will be the December edition of Public
House in MeetFactory. Get blown away by our program representing all dramaturgy
lines: get a drink at the bar and indulge in two exhibition openings, open theatre rehearsal, five concerts, and Open Studios of our
residents to top it up. There is two more openings: MeetF Academy invites to taste new artistic school and Beauty Free Shop will show unique artworks.
MeetFactory Gallery will open the exhibition Who Is Playing? which looks at the hidden action of emotions in the
world of sports. It will feature works of world-renowned artists as Olaf Breuning (CH), Zuzanna Janin (PL),
Pawel Kruk (USA), Anika Larsson (SWE), Jean-Erick Désert (Haiti), Shaun
Leonardo (USA), Anetta Mona Chişa & Lucia Tkáčová (SK) and Assa Kauppi (SWE). Kostka Gallery will
open the exhibition Inner than the Bones
of our artist-in-residence Axel Gouala
(FR). He got inspired by bones which he sees as fundamental architecture of
the human body and reminder of our existence even after we’re long gone.
The theater dramaturgy will open a rehearsal of the upcoming production Tsunami Blues. Visitors will be
encouraged to learn how this theatrical piece looks like 12 days before its
premiere (22. 12.), how actors Tereza
Dočkalová, Eva Salzmannová, Tomáš Dianiška, Richard Němec a Lenka Zahradnická
work on their characters under the guidance of director Ewa Zembok.
The music program will connect the Czechs with the most progressive Norway
electronic scene. A performative installation as well as five extraordinary music projects will be
presented as a part of the SYNAPSE
project initiated by Insomnia Festival in Tromsø, Norway
and MeetFactory and funded by EHP 2009-2014.
The small listening room will claim a modular performative installation by
Norwegian musician Lars Holdhus (releasing under TCF
moniker) and Czech artist Martin Kohout (Jindřich Chalupecký award
nominee), created out of ceramics, tea and 4-channel sound.
The main music venue will feature shows of Mikuláš Odehnal a.k.a.Lišaj (CZ) with
his experimental, ethereal rap built on creeping, slow beats and vocal
digging through the walls of heavy sound, Demdike Stare (UK) who
mix strange recordings to an impressively strange forms, Paranoid London (UK)
with its unpredictable energy acid house, Sherwood & Pinch (UK)
which destroys dance floors around the world by its futuristic version of
dub’n’bass and the Czech club legend Yukimura (CZ) with his
original mix of dub, afrobeat, funk and jazz music.
To mark the end of the Critical Studio
programme UK artist Naomi Fitzsimmons invites audiences to attend a special
presentation of the performative work ‘Multiple Choice’ exhibited at
MeetFactory at the end of September. The piece comprised of a journey devised
by the artist, which allowed a select 20 audience members to participate in.
At ‘How did it perform?’ audiences will be
presented with insights and documentation from this exclusive trip as well as a
Q&A with the Multiple Choice team.
