Summer never ends! Extend your summer holidays through the
September edition of Public House at MeetFactory. Buzzing with energy, this
multi-genre party will take you through the labyrinth of contemporary art. Art
Openings? Two. Theater? Hot topic! Music? Shake your legs. Residential studios?
Open all night just for you. We are starting on Thursday, September 8 at 7
p.m., free entry.
LAUGHTER AND FORGETTING
MeetFactory Gallery will open a group exhibition inspired by
Milan Kundera´s work. Laughter and
Forgetting explores the malleability of memory, pain of laughter, the
interrelationship between public and private life, and the deception of human
relationships. Their works will present: Esther
Shalev-Gerz, Dor Guez, Clemens Von Wedemeyer, Agnieszka Polska, Sarah Sweeney,
Nedko Solakov, Himali Singh Soin, Sophie Calle, Kateřina Šedá, Hito Steyerl,
Dorothy Iannone, Dread Scott, Adam Vačkář and Dan Acostioaei.
Curator's guided tour featuring in-person presentations by Sarah Sweeney, Dan Acostioaei and Adam Vackar will take place on 9 Sept. at 7 p.m.
MONUMENT
OF OBSERVATION
The Kostka Gallery will open a solo exhibition of Radka
Salzmannová called Monument of
Observation reflecting the process of psychological transformation of a person living
between two different continents.
NOMAD + VŠECHNA TEMNOTA SVĚTA NEDOKÁŽE UHASIT SVĚTLO JEDINÉ MALÉ SVÍČKY
The theatre will present in Theatre Hall a staging
of musical performance Nomad,
directed by Lucie Ferenzová, which
looks at the theme of pilgrimage and the related fears and taboos. In the theatre studio will be held the performance
titled Všechna temnota světa nemůže
uhasit světlo jediné male svíčky, based on the text inspired by the novel
of Petr Šabach Zvláštní problém Františka

SHAPE music
The main music hall will feature
shows of young European contemporary
electro-experimental scene led by the Swedish sound magician Klara Lewis with her
expressive and intuitive collage from the found sounds, field recordings and
electronic textures and Berlin-based Venezuelan producer Ana Laura Rincón
a.k.a. Hyperaktivist
who mixes different styles of electronic music (dub, bass, electro, techno) to generate
a suggestive and contrast music forms. The local scene will be represented by NEORU. DJ and radio host Veronika Ruppert.
Klara Lewis and Hyperaktivist are supported in 2016 by the SHAPE platform, co-funded by the Creative Europe programme of the European Union.

STUDIOS
Throughout the whole night, you get a chance to visit the
studios of our current artists-in-residence. Their works will present: Khalifa Dieng (SEN), Gaëlle Crescent (FR),
Ben Landau (AU), Jakub Roček (CZ), Mark Dorf (US), Viktor Valášek (CZ) a Urban Space
Epics (US).
LE RENOUVEAU
For our backyard we prepared the open-air screening of a new document titled Le Renouveau about the people from the Paris suburbs who decided to take the
things into their own hands and organize their own community-oriented parties.
