Exhibitions

bottom’s just another floor (MeetFactory Gallery)
In an era some refer to as “late-late capitalism,” we are flooded with promises of seamless experiences — we expect smooth information flows, uninterrupted consumption, and an endlessly expanding horizon of technological progress. Yet instead of graceful forward motion, we often find ourselves stuck in place, caught in absurd loops. bottom’s just another floor explores this unsettling state — an almost hallucinatory kind of “freeze.”
Exhibiting artists: Total Refusal, Anne de Vries, Jakub Choma, Tomi Faison
Curators: Noemi Purkrábková, Jiří Sirůček

Jakub Hájek & František Hanousek: Hounour Glands (Kostka Gallery)
The exhibition by artist duo Jakub Hájek and František Hanousek at Kostka Gallery presents a site-specific installation that continues their previous collaborative projects — whether in the form of architecturally conceived group exhibitions or their own objects and drawings. Their work is characterized by obsessively detailed craftsmanship, often using recycled and waste materials.
Curator: Ján Gajdušek

Lucie Lučanská: To feed the hand that feeds you (Zeď Gallery)
The first project to be realized within the revived Zeď Gallery program is a painting by Prague-based illustrator Lucie Lučanská. In To feed the hand that feeds you, the artist turns to the motif of shared dining as a source of everyday care and solidarity. The painting is intentionally apolitical, avoiding commentary on any current crises or disasters. It loosely follows on from the stillherestillrestlife project, which explores the development of the food still life genre. For this work, Lučanská uses airbrush techniques combined with traditional spray graffiti methods, creating a hybrid aesthetic that bridges subtlety and striking monumentality.

Open Studios

The open studios will present work by the Romanian performer Eliza Trefas, who uses her own body to engage with challenging topics. Maëlle Magnin-Feysot from France creates complex installations combining paintings, objects, and textile works, which she sometimes conceives as scenography for potential performances. Her work explores the theme of female heroines and draws from a reservoir of symbols and historical references. Lenka Holíková is a Czech artist living between Europe and Mexico, focusing on themes of migration and borders. Nasrin Abu Bakerwill present video art and an installation that deals with her personal and collective identity and narrative. Ukrainian artist and curator Marta Romankiv, living in Poland, will present her artistic work and research focused on migrant rights. Iranian-Scottish artist Iman Tajik will showcase his performative practice centered on the theme of borders.
Throughout the evening, a performance by long-term resident Darrell Jónsson (Urban Space Epics) will also take place.
